In this wikiHow we show you how to send an animated GIF to a contact in WhatsApp.
1. Open WhatsApp. The icon shows a phone in a speech bubble on a green background.
If you're not logged in to WhatsApp, enter your phone number and tap Continue .
2. Tap on chats . You'll find this at the bottom of the screen, to the left of "Settings."
If you're already in the chat menu, skip this step.
If you're in a conversation, tap the back button on the top left of the screen.
3. Touch a conversation.
4. At the bottom left of the screen, tap " + ".
5. Touch Photo & Video Library .
6. Tap on GIF . This option can be found at the bottom left of the screen. You can select a GIF on this page by tapping it, or you can search for a specific one by using the Find in GIPHY bar at the top of the screen .
You can also tap Favorites at the top of this page to see GIFs you have starred in.
7. Touch a GIF. This opens it in Edit mode where you can do the following things:
Add text or stickers by tapping the buttons in the upper right corner of the screen.
Add a caption by tapping one in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Add another GIF or photo by tapping the + to the left of the caption bar.
8. Tap the white arrow at the bottom right of the screen. This sends the GIF to the selected contact.
