We've all been on one or two websites that we'd rather hide from prying eyes. Whether you've been looking at the results of the game, looking for gifts, or on websites where some might raise the eyebrows - it's good to know how to delete your story and blur your tracks. Follow this guide to delete your history with one of the popular browsers and also on your mobile device.

Method 1 



1. Click on the Chrome menu. You'll find it in the upper right corner of the window, it looks like three horizontal lines.


2. Click History. This will open a new tab in your Chrome window where your history will be displayed. You can also press Strg+ to open the history Hwithout going through the menu.

3. Click on "Delete History". This opens a new window in the History tab with various options. If you just want to delete your history, make sure it is the only checked box.
  • You can use the drop-down menu above to set the time period for the history you want to delete. If you want to delete the entire history, select "From the beginning".
4. Click the "Delete History" button if you have selected what you want to delete. Your selection will be deleted.

5. Open an incognito window the next time you surf private. If you know you're going to do something on the Internet that you do not want to record, surf in an incognito window so Chrome does not log the history for that session. Press Strg+ ⇧ Shift+N to open an incognito window or select "New Incognito window" from the Chrome menu.

6. Delete the history of Chrome on your mobile device. Open Chrome on your mobile device. Click on your menu button on Android devices. On the iOS devices, tap the Chrome menu button at the top of the browser.
  • Choose from the menu.
  • Tap the "Delete history" button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Choose which data you want to delete.
Method 2  Firefox

1. Click on the Firefox menu. You'll find it in the upper left corner of the Firefox window.


2. Move the mouse over the course. Select "Delete History" from the pop-up menu.
  • Pressing Strg+ Hopens your history in the sidebar.
  • Pressing Strg+ ⇧ Shift+ Entfopens the "Delete History" window.
3 Select what you want to delete. Use the drop-down menu to select a time range that you want to delete. Click the Details button to verify that "Internet and download history" is highlighted.

4. Click on the "Delete Now" button to delete your selection. You will return to the Firefox window when the deletion is complete.

5. Open a private window the next time you want to surf privately. If you know you're going to do something on the Internet that you do not want to record, surf in a private window to prevent Firefox from logging the history for that session. Choose "New Private Window" from the Firefox menu.
  • You can also open a private window by pressing Strg+ ⇧ Shift+ P.
Method 3  Internet Explorer

1. Click the Tools button. You can find it in the top right corner of your Internet Explorer window, it looks like a gear wheel.

2. Move the mouse over Security, and then click Delete History. This opens the Delete History window.
  • If your version of the Internet Explorer has no Tools button, click ⎇ Altand then on the Tools menu. Select "Clear History".
3. Set a check mark at the end. Make sure that a check mark is selected before you click on the delete button. You can also delete other browser data, eg cookies and data for automatic filling.

4. Click the Delete button. Once you have made your selection, click on the Delete button to delete your history.
  • You can open your history in a sidebar by pressing Strg+H .

5. Open a private window the next time you want to surf privately. If you know you're going to do something on the Internet that you do not want to record, then surf in a private window to prevent Internet Explorer from logging the history for that session. To do this, click Strg+ ⇧ Shift+P or choose Private Browsing from the Security menu of the Tools menu.
