Prevent strangers from sending you messages on Snapchat

Snapchat allows strangers to write you with "snaps" or images and short videos. If you only want to get snaps from your friends, just take a few steps to change the privacy settings.

Method. 1 Set your privacy

1. Open Snapchat. Find the Snapchat app on your phone. The icon is yellow and has in the center the figure of a white spirit.

2 .Tap the mind at the center of your screen. When you open your snapchat, you'll see a small ghost icon on the screen. Click on it.

3 .Go to the icon on the top right of the screen. A drop-down menu is displayed when you click on the ghost. On the top right there is a red or white gear, which you can enter into the settings.

• If it is red, you need to update something in your settings.
• If it is white, there is no new activity.

4 .Select "Send Mir Snaps". Scroll down to the section "Who can ...". The first option under this heading is "Send Me Snaps". Choose this.

5 .Select "My friends". You are asked "Who can send me snaps?". If there is a check mark next to "Everyone", everyone (including strangers) can send you a snap. Tap the My Friends option.
Tap the Back button (an arrow in the upper left corner of the screen) to save your settings.

Method 2 add friends

1. Add friends. Now that strangers can not send you snaps, add friends to your contacts. So you can get snaps from your friends and the people you know.

2 .Open Snapchat and click on the mind in the middle. This opens a drop-down menu.

3 .Select "Add Friends". This opens a menu where you can see various options for adding friends. Add friends by typing:

• Search for user name. Enter your friend's username and tap the "+" button.
• Import from your address book. This accesses the contacts you've already stored on your phone. Add it by tapping the "+" button.
• With a specific snapcode.
• Look for people who are nearby. This is looking for users who are in your area.
• You probably have to wait for the person to accept your friend request before she can send you snaps. But now your snaps will come from people you know, instead of strangers!

Tips

When a stranger tries to add you, block him. Please type his username in the section Added to me. A small gear is displayed and takes you into the settings. Just type this to block and he will not be able to find you.
